Midsummer Night's Melancholy by Michael Sowa
Magpie Tales #276
they rushed and bustled
frantic to cling to
somewhere
far from here
a room with a view
of the sun
of trees
of the sea
they said
they said
they loved me
they said
they would
provide for me
they said
they would could come back
so
in my small space
I'm pining through
the hollow hours
for
my room
with a view
but
from my window
if she only knew...
if she only knew...

sad and intense!
I get a real feeling Gemma of lose and wanting from this poem.
Very well written.
so much melancoly, so much sadness, so much emptiness :-(
Is that view going to bring joy or just more melancholy?
Oh gosh, how sad.

Poignant thoughts, beautifully expressed.
Turn around , lonely pussycat ...
Sighs after reading your poem ~~~
A room with a view... waiting for that loved one to come home. I hope they come soon.
you named that feeling well. an emotional snapshot.
so tender
That long, long wait......
Full of the angst a pet would feel while waiting. Nice take.
