all the mystique...

Aline Smithson

all the mystique and
glamour
and flashy photos
spewed like sticky honey from
the relentless
Hollywood
marketing
machine
cannot compete with
the passing of time

tastes and
stardom
move on

just like your fancy doll's house for
your fancy doll
abandoned
buckling to the ravages of
loveless
dust

while I stand
and I see
and I conquer

and this
ordinary
smug
doll

moves on

One is not there to wait for others. The glamour world can divert their attention but one has to live one's life. Very true Gemma. We have our own destiny to think about!

Here's to all the ordinary dolls who stood up to the test of time!

Oh.. some dolls just find a new path in life, and leave the withered housed in their footstep.

I love the language here. It has a real something to it, like it's not a bite, more like a slurp, but a strong slurp, like Asian people eating noodles and being polite with the slurping. I fricken' loved it. Boss.
